RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Customer Success Manager (CSM) is usually a key executive role with a primary focus being to manage and develop a diverse customer portfolio.  CSM’s are the customer’s advocate ensuring the business is not only achieving, but exceeding, the needs and expectations of its customers.  Similarly, as a CSM you will be the face of the business, representing the company interests, products and services ensuring that the customer appreciates and values their relationship with the business.  From the initial on-boarding stage you will assist clients ensuring at all times that you are driving business value for your customers.

The CSM owns the customer relationship from end to end, driving the successful deployment of products and services, whilst developing new business opportunities for the business .Considered management roles in the business they are normally responsible for: ​

  • Being a trusted advisor to your customer portfolio through the entire sales and delivery process to drive success 

  • Being an advocate for clients to drive successful on-boarding, project success, and product renewals

  • Collaborating with clients to build business roadmaps and define business requirements.

  • Enabling clients to deploy products and services they buy or license from your business and maximise their ROI.

  • Liaising with customers on the product roadmap and future strategy of the business

  • Supporting further expansion into each account including up-selling and cross-selling services and introducing new services and capabilities

  • Conducting business reviews to identify any areas of growth and regular WIP meetings with clients wherever they may be (local, interstate and international).

  • Closing out projects, issues, training as well as being a subject matter expert and consulting with customers around best practice

  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of projects with accounts

  • Preparing and presenting financial and client status reports to Directors

  • Recruiting and onboarding team members.

  • Providing regular communication to customers, management, staff and other stakeholders.

  • Managing a sales budget and and delivering on the financial objectives of the business.

Candidate Profile: ​

We find that successful candidates are usually seasoned sales and account management professionals with a track record of delivering solutions over products. They generally have the following profile: ​

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • A burning desire to help people succeed being someone who finds helping people rewarding.

  • A problem solver by nature, who considers no challenge is too great.

  • Experienced at wearing a few hats at once, who can thrive in less structured environments.

  • Is relationship driven and not transactional being able to maintain a big picture outlook rather than a short-term gain mentality.

  • A desire to help build a company as a team player, whilst playing a key leadership role.

  • A track record of success within customer success or a consulting environment 

  • Superb relationship management and account management skills 

  • The ability to present workshops and provide enablement sessions where required.

  • A strategic mindset being able to execute tactically in alignment with growth objectives

  • An understanding of what data driven means with an ability to analyse data and draw insights, make recommendations

Qualifications and Experience: 

Practical experience is a key requirement for our customers when choosing a customer success manager. In addition, they expect:

  • Have least 4 years experience as an Account Manager / Customer Success Manager in a similar organisation delivering customer projects.

  • Relevant academic qualifications in business or other. 

  • Proven experience in confidently engaging stakeholders at all levels (internal/external) including taking the lead in client workshops

  • Able to prioritise competing demands effectively to meet business outcomes and manage project financials.

  • High quality written work (proposals, requirements, general written communication)

  • Track record of success in managing complex, enterprise accounts

  • Have proven excellent relationship building skills

  • Planning & organisational skills.

  • Expert Time Management skills.
